My Favorite Things: A Blog Linkup

Ok before I get started, I just want to say thanks to everyone who wished me well on my last post. Luckily, my sore throat hasn’t turned into a flat out cold and it looks like it’s just allergies. So I just need to take some allergy meds and drink tea with honey to keep it at bay.

Anyway, it’s time for Raisa and Eirene’s linkup. Here’s what I’m in love with this month:

Personal Objects

Stuffed Buddy

I really hope I’m not the only 20-something in the blogosphere who has an attachment with a childhood stuffed animal. I don’t really care if I am, it would just make me feel less weird. Anyway, this is my stuffed chocolate Labrador, stuffed Buddy. I named him after my childhood dog of the same breed (who’s now passed) and he’s been with me through every major point in my life. From my 6th grade day trip to New York to my first night in college, he’s been there. I never go on an overnight trip without him.

Anime

Untitled-126

Sailor Moon

I’ve seen a lot of anime fans rave about this show. I was apprehensive about getting into it at first but I’m glad I did. It can be very corny at times (in my opinion), but the plot and the characters are great so far. I’m excited to get more into it.

Rooster-Teeth-RWBY-Volume-3

Rwby

I love this one. It’s an online web anime that takes place in the distant future. There, Grim (demon-like creatures) roam the Earth and it’s up to huntsmen and huntresses to stop them. The plot is amazing, the characters are awesome, and I’ve even gone so far as to think up some OCs based on this series. I highly recommend.

Shows

TeenTitansTogether

Teen Titans

This is one of my all-time favorite shows from my childhood (when Cartoon Network was good). You probably recognize Robin as the leader of the group, which are 5 teenagers who fight crime and live in a tower shaped like a ‘T’. I love the character development involved with this series as well the fact that it tackles some real life issues that people face. I’ve been rewatching it because I can never get enough. 😉

Movies

Spirited Away

Believe it or not, my first time watching this movie was within the past month. I’d seen Howl’s Moving Castle when I was in 6th grade, but never any other Studio Ghibli films until this one. And I honestly fell in love. I love the characters, the plot, everything. And most of all, I really liked how (*Spoilers*) in the end, there was no character that was flat-out evil. The antagonist turned out to have a soft side, just like a lot of people do. It really taught me not to draw conclusions on characters (or people).

Anyway, that’s all for now.

  1. I’ve always like Sailor Moon as well. It was one of those animes I watched during my childhood days.
Teen Titans is my fave as well when I used to watch Cartoon Network. I do miss watching shows like that but my family says I’m too grown up to watch kiddy shows.

I never heard of spirited away and rwby before. They look pretty cool though.
How are you? Hope you’re doing well.

  2. I hope you’re feeling better now! Rwby sounds really interesting so I think I’m gonna check it out. 😀 Thanks for sharing!

  3. Your stuffed buddy is adorable. Nothing wrong with having a stuffed animal when we’re grown up XD I still have my teddy in my bed! XD

Sailor Moon . . . ahhh, I need to get back to my re-watch of the first season. I’ve just got far too much to do, so that’s just been on my backlog.

  4. I love Teen Titans & Spirited Away! Spirited Away and Studio Ghibli movies in general are really good. I’ve seen a couple of episodes of the latest Sailor Moon and it seemed really good!

  5. Ahhh, Spirited Away is a gem. But not so much as other Studio Ghibli films, for me, personally. My favourites are Laputa, and Grave of the Fireflies, which was one of the very old ones. Some people say Grave of the Fireflies was predictable and not very creative, but everyone has their opinions. Did you watch Spirited in Away in Japanese with English subtitles, or was it just dubbed? I originally saw it in Japanese and when I bought it, I had gotten the English version. Being a real lover of Japanese language and culture, I was pretty disappointed and I didn’t like it with the dubbing.

I used to have a stuffed dog that I kept from the age of one until about nineteen. He didn’t really go everywhere with me, though, but I had a new-found love for him in my late teens. I don’t really like stuffed toys anymore but I did still like them until a few years ago.

  6. SAILOR MOON!~ <3 YOU will get even more hooked as the seasons go on!

I used to have stuffed animals from my childhood, but no more. I just got rid of them because honestly, I realized I couldn't hang onto my childhood anymore.

  7. I’m rewatching Sailor Moon S right now (BEST SAILOR MOON ARC EVER IN MY OPINION) and it gives me all the ~feels~. If you’re on the first season or the second (Sailor Moon R), Sailor Moon S (3rd) has a more mature storyline. You might like it. 🙂

And I love Spirited Away too! Four years ago, I had this Studio Ghibli phase where I watched one of their movies every night. You should go through that phase too! It’s fun! Some of Studio Ghibli’s underrated films are really G O O D.
